General Pervez Musharraf
Chief Executive of Pakistan
Aiwan-e-Sadar
Islamabad
Pakistan
Dear General Musharraf:
Greetings from Sydney, Australia!
I am writing at this time to ask you to commute unconditionally the
death sentence of Ms Rubina Ansari.
As I understand the case, this woman is poor and illiterate and was
unable to defend herself adequately in court.
She is a young mother with a child who is dependent upon her.
She appears to have suffered torture while in custody, something which
has not yet been investigated by the responsible authorities.
Moreover, a number of important Human Rights organizations in Pakistan
and around the world have expressed their serious concern about this
case.
I know how much you are concerned about the future of your country. I
hope you will intervene to stop the execution of Ms Rubina Ansari in
order to prove to the international community that Pakistan tempers
justice with mercy.
With warmest best wishes,
Yours most sincerely,
Dr Peter Sales
Senior Lecturer in History
University of Wollongong
AUSTRALIA.

Dear President,
I request you to forgive the death sentence of Robina Khan without any conditions, considering of her innocent daughter's life.
Regards,
Syed Iftikhar-ul-Hassan.
Pakistan.

General Pervez Musharraf
Chief Executive of Pakistan
Aiwan-e-Sadar,
Islamabad, PAKISTAN
Dear General Musharraf
This appeal is to plead on behalf of Ms.Rubina Ansari, who had been
sentenced to death without any proper trial. She is poor and illiterate and was unable to defend herself properly. She was tried in a terrorist court for a non-terrorist offense. It is believed that justice was not meted out to her. After the trial began her husband too had left her and if this unjust judgement is carried out her daughter would become an orphan.
Please do commute the execution order and Your Excellency have the
necessary powers to do so. At the same time Your Excellency can order a fair trial. After that please do investigate the torture inflicted on her by the police officers and other officials.
As a statesman, if your excellency is to win confidence in the eyes of the world, you have to show that you are a just and compassionate leader, who looks after the welfare of the civilians.
I appeal to your good sense and to your conscience, that justice be meted out to this unfortunate lady and commute the death sentence imposed on her without proper trial.
Reid Shelton Fernando.

Dear General Musharraf,
I ask you some time to read the following.
It appears that the death-sentence of Ms. Rubina will go on.
I am very worried and disappointed by hearing this, especially because of
the injustifiable way her case has been so far!
Clearly Ms Rubina had a lack of access to proper legal defence due to her
financial situation, as well as her own illiteracy have prevented her from
defending herself to any reasonable degree.
The serious faults in the justice procedures, the lack of evidence, the suspected
police brutality and the lack of access to proper legal defence should be enough
reason for you - being the Chief Executive of Pakistan - to issue an unconditional
commution of Ms. Rubina's sentence.
- she was tried in a terrorist court for a non-terrorist offence based on
circumstantial evidence.
- she is a young mother, and would leave her daughter a virtual orphan
- there is reason to believe she has suffered severe torture (a claim which
is yet to be investigated by the government, police or courts).
- major human rights bodies within Pakistan and internationally have grave
problems with the trial and sentencing procedures.
Therefore, I ask you to unconditionally commute the death sentence of Ms. Rubina Ansari!
Her life -and that of her child- may not be at stake because of the undecided family, whether
or not to go ahead with Ms. Rubina's death penalty!
Thank you for your time and wise decision!
Sincerely,
Lousco
(The Netherlands)

Dear General Musharraf, I am writing to you in the hope that you will see fit to offer proper legal assistance to Robina Khan who is due to be executed tomorrow. It is apparent she has not be offered the legal assistance to which she is entitled and therefore, should not under any circumstances, be executed. It is imperative that she be given the consideration due to any human being. She is a young mother who has been unreasonably tried and convicted. Please give her the help she needs to overcome this terrible situation. Robina has already suffered a miscarriage which in itself is an awful experience. She is illiterate and the fear she would be experiencing through this would be tremendous. Again I ask you to please offer her the legal and medical aid to which she is entitled as a member of the human race. Thankyou, Susan Shubert
